The 3.15 low range gear set is the lowest you can get for your stock Gen 2 Montero transfer case, If you are running 33-37" tires off road these are a necessity (especially if you pack heavy). These will not only save your transmission but also your engine and brakes, heat is a killer and if these components don't have to work as hard they won't generate as much heat. The 3.15's allow you to "power through the brakes" giving you the ability to double foot gas and brake for ultimate control over the most challenging obstacles. If you're planning on 35" tires and 4 wheeling plan on this gear set.
