 The 3.15:1 low range is a great addition to the Gen 3 Montero, especially fitted behind the 5 speed and traction control. You can pretty much idle up and crazy obstacle letting the traction control do its job, with the low wheel speed of low range and 1st gear the truck will maintain traction with far less wheel spin than before. The other benefits are the ability to power through the brakes for ultimate control on climbs and not needing to ride the brakes on descents. We highly recommend this gear set for trucks with 33-35" tires or for "Overland rigs" carrying extra weight or pulling trailers off road.
